Handegg 1490 m Arrampicata alpina
With its smooth slabs, its lack of a proper summit and of a decent view onto the Alps, the Handegg did not generate interest amongst climbers before the late 70s. Things changed with the first ascent of Fair Hands Line in 1978. At that point, the area turned into a cradle of revival: Big wall free climbing was born again. Its outstanding rock offers first class climbing. Despite the improved re-bolting of the route, do not underestimate the level of commitment the Handegg requires.
