In Swiss dialect a "Nolle" is ascribed to rounded features in nature such as "rounded mountain peaks". As its name suggests, the Wyssnollen, or 'white hump' provides a relatively simple tour in an otherwise imposing landscape and is often done as a half-day ski tour from the Finsteraarhorn hut. The view from this rather inconspicuous summit is surprisingly rewarding and the slopes, which fall at around 30 degrees, offer a wonderful and continuous descent of around 600 m in altitude. The Wyssnollen is also a reasonable objective during a hut change from the Konkordia to the Finsteraarhorn hut. The ascent this way, via the Grünhornlücke is considered fairly straightforward but should not be underestimated during adverse conditions e.g. bare ice or fresh snow.
