Climbing Wissmeilen from the Mülibachtal is an unusual route. Compared to the Flumserberg side with its numerous ski and chair lifts, this itinerary is quieter, sunnier and more interesting.
Route description
Skihütte Mülibachtal – Wissmeilen
From Skihütte Mülibachtal (1763 m) follow the alp access road north-eastward to P. 1942 on Chalberboden and via Lüser to Mülibach Oberstafel (1948 m). Continue on the summer trail south-eastward past Tänzer (2125 m) and P. 2241 to Wissmeilenpass (2416 m). Following the north-east ridge, the last metres on foot, you reach the Wissmeilen summit (2481 m).
Descent via Obere and Untere Seeloch / Werbenstutz to Engi
From the summit ski down on the ascent until P. 2241. Following the creek you reach the bowl of Obere Seeloch and continuing westward, ski down to Untere Seeloch. Go a a few metres southward to the little mountain lake (2003 m) and then you can ski down the beautiful slopes of Werbenstutz to P. 1586 on the floor of the Mülibach valley. Now follow the creek down to Gamszinggenhütte (1512 m) and south of the Mühlebach through a number of clearings of Gamszinggen you reach the road leading to the Engi, Weberei (812 m) bus stop.
Variant: Engi – Skihütte Mülibachtal
If you do not spend the night at Skihütte Mülibachtal, add 2 ½ hours for the ascent from the valley. From Gamszinggenhütten in the Mülibachtal follow the unploughed road to the ski cabin.
