High above the Walensee
Wageten is the western outcrop of Brügglergrat, which leads towards Glarnerland. It is accessible from all sides. Besides the access from Schwändital via Lochegg there is an interesting alternative from Niederurner Tal, which can be reached by an original aerial cableway. The view from Wageten down to Walensee and to Glarner Alpen is breath-taking. The whole package of landscape, view and enjoyable scrambling on the last stretch make the tour to Wageten a unique adventure off the beaten paths.

The most adventurous part is the last stretch to the summit. Initially you need to scramble up a grassy couloir, then you balance on the ridge like a tightrope walker to reach the summit. It is recommended to use a rope to secure children and inexperienced hikers to allow them an enjoyable adventure free of fear. The rock is of good, solid quality.
