The classic itinerary from La Fouly to the summit and back offers good snow conditions until late in the spring.
Route description
La Fouly - Léchère - P. 2271 at Combe des Fonds
From La Fouly (1596 m) follow the road towards the hamlet of Ferret. From Le Clou ascend southward on the path to Léchère (1877 m) and then continue in a small depression east of Tête de Ferret. The ascent is on the left hand side on the NNE ridge, the descent on the steep NE face until the saddle at 2144 m. From there continue on the other face below Cretté de la Perche until P. 2270.
P. 2270 – NNE ridge - Tête de Ferret
From P. 2270 in the Combe des Fonds ascend southward and towards the plateau Planfins de la Léchère on a steeper slope on the left. Traverse the plateau on the left hand side to reach the NNE ridge of Tête de Ferret, which you ascend up to the summit.
