Shorter from Täschalp (car or taxi); this approach is also possible with children. Magnificent perspectives of the four thousand metre peaks of the Täschalp basin and also across to the iconic pyramid of the Weisshorn. A couple of different variations. The hut can also be accessed by bike on the rough track.
Route description
Täschalp - Arb - Täschhütte
From the Täschalp / Ottawe (2205 m), a small gravel road leads up to the hut (which is visible from the start). This path can be (insignificantly) shortened by taking the small hiking path straight ahead at the first hairpin bend (approx. 2350 m). Later, make sure to take the highest branch of this path in order to gain the hut (it is easy to stay too low and miss in fog).
Variant: Täsch - Täschalp on foot
You can reach Täschalp on foot from Täsch (1449 m) via Täschberg and Eggenstadel (1912 m) in 2 1⁄2 hours.
It is also possible to hire an "Alpentaxi".
Variant: From Sunnegga via Euraopaweg to Täschalp
Sunnegga (2288 m) can be reached by cable car from Zermatt or on foot via Tiefenmatten.
From Sunnegga (2288 m) you can reach Täschalp on the Europaweg, a wonderful, flattish path that leads via Tufteren / Tuftra (2214 m) in 3 1⁄2 hours.
