Previously a key military vantage point, the Simplonpass is now an important climbing area for the Oberwallisers. It offers wonderfully 'gneiss' climbing for ambitious climbers. From technically demanding wall climbing to power-sapping overhangs, its got it all. The sector Stalde has particularly pleasant routes more suited to the 'plaisir' climber.
