Route description
Zermatt train station - Start
From Zermatt train station (1605 m) walk along Bahnhofstrasse (the main street into town). Shortly after the "Alpinezentrum" turn right, following signs for Trift. Ascend the footpath uphill, past the Hotel Omnia and out of the village. Cross the small plateau at Bodmen and continue towards the Triftschlucht. Before the bridge over the Triftbach (stream), make a sharp righthand turn. This leads to the via ferrata (about 1800 m, ½ hours).
