Rossstock is an often-undertaken ski tour, so in most cases you will find a track. The summit ridge is technically easy, but if it is icy, caution is advised. As the ascent to Rossstock is short, you can add another summit nearby, e.g. Hagelstock. The descent is best, if there is sufficient snow to ski down to Riemenstaldertal.
Route description
Lidernenhütte SAC – Rossstock
From Lidernenhütte (1727 m) ascend south-eastward across Rossstöckli (1885 m) or via Ober Hüttli to reach Mälchbödeli (ca. 1900 m). The same point can be reached from Gitschen (1717 m, summit station of the aerial cableway) via Spilauhütten (ca. 1740 m) and past Rossstöckli.
From Mälchbödeli continue south-eastward on a short, steep slope to reach the ridge. Following the summer trail, ascend to the summit slope.
Rossstock summit ridge
Mostly on foot, ascend the short, slightly exposed ridge to the summit.
Descent
On the ascent to Lidernenhütte; continue to descend through the forest (rough) to Käppeliberg via Broholz. This descent can only be recommended, if there is sufficient snow.
