This is a nice, short ski tour from the charming Saxettal. The tour is on sunny slopes to Rengglipass, and from there up the steep summit slope to Rengghorn. The view goes to the sunlit Morgenberghorn on the one side, to the north-facing cliffs of Schwalmere on the other side, and down to the secluded Suldtal.
Route description
Saxeten - Rengglipass – Rengghorn
From the Saxeten, Skipintli bus stop (ca. 1150 m) at Innerfeld south of Saxeten follow the road to the bridge at 1167 m. Cross the bridge and immediately afterwards ascend westward to Ramsermatten (P. 1386). Now go south-westward to the alp access road. Follow the road to the Mittelberg alp (1632 m). Continue in the same direction on the wide Innerberg slopes to reach the buildings at ca. 1790 m. Follow the summer trail to Rengglipass (1879 m), the last stretch on a steep ridge. South of the often-wind-swept ridge ascend the west face to reach a shoulder and the highest point.
Descent
On the ascent or directly on the steep east face back to Saxeten (only in perfectly safe conditions)
