Plagne 800 m Alpine climbing
Plagne ... rock quality that ranges from rubbish heaps to Verdonesque walls. It varies from sector to sector, sometimes even from rope length to rope length. Exposure to the west creates the opportunity to climb in the evening until the last ray of sunshine or on a summer's day until noon in the shade. Access is usually from the top, but do not panic; small red markings and some signs are there to guide you to the various couloirs that are secured for descent with wire ropes and ladders. In addition to the top rope routes, there are a myriad of great routes, newly set up or recently re-equipped.
The magnificent view of the Three Lakes region compensates for the noise of the cement factory. Plagne - you love it or you hate it!
