A sediment tooth surrounded by crystalline rock
While everywhere around various tones of Gneiss-grey dominate, on top of Pizzo Molare the rock is multi-coloured. There is a wide range of red and brownish schist, light grey limestone and shiny white sugary dolomite. The variety of rocks is also responsible for the many colours of the flowers you encounter along the trails. They go from the clear white to fiery orange of the lilies and the most brilliant deep blue of the gentians.

- Difficulty / Material
-
Between Bassa di Nara and Bocchetta di Sasso Bianco the trail has occasionally slipped away in steep terrain so that sometimes the use of the hands is needed.
Between Punta di Stou and Rifugio Gana Rossa the itinerary is pathless on coarse block terrain, which requires some orientational skill to find the best way. With bad visibility the orientation is very difficult, as there are no markings whatsoever.
