Piz d'Es-cha / Piz Kesch 3418 m Alpinism
Thanks to its altitude and central location amidst the Grisons Alps, Piz Kesch has some of the most panoramic views around, which is why it is often climbed. Most impressive is the view of the nearby Bernina group. Additional surrounding mountain groups stand out, but also the distant views, from the Ortler to the Valais and Bernese Alps gives a full experience. The main summit can be reached easily from both the Kesh hut and the Chamanna Es-cha hut, although the way from the Kesch hut is a bit more varied and longer. The neighboring, ca. 30m lower "Keschnadel" is more difficult to climb and offers on its eastern wall some good sport climbing routes.
