Petit Combin 3668 m Alpinism
The Petit Combin is a very large mountain with ramified topography. From the 300 m long and 200 m wide firn plateau of the summit lead no less than five ridges. Particularly inspiring is the north wall, which at 2 km wide at the base is a feast for the eyes. Its icy flanks extend from Pron Sery over 1400 vertical meters to the highest point. The north side is partially covered by the Glacier du Petit Combin, which is divided into four branches by three parallel rock ridges. This significant mountain has very attractive ascent routes that can be combined to make rewarding traverse.
Optimal approaches are from the Cabane FXB Panossière and the Cabane Brunet.
