In high winter the forested hill between Ägerisee and Rothenthurm offers some interesting short tours starting from a railway station. The tour described here begins at the Rothenthurm railway station; there is another one beginning at Sattel. The view goes to the Rothenthurm moor, a landscape of national importance.
Route description
Rothenthurm – Morgartenberg
South of the Rothenthurm railway station (920 m) cross the railway lines and go westward until the last buildings. Now ascend south-westward to reach the cross on the ridge. Now via Müllerenweid to Chli Morgarten and along the hiking trail through the Fisterwald to the summit plateau and further to the summit cross.

On the ascent or alternatively south-westward to Sattel
