Route description
Langwies - Pirigen - Mattjisch Horn
From Langwies (1377 m) ascend via Ober Wis or Schluocht to the parking lot at P. 1490. From there go westward, first horizontally on the road towards Pirigen. At the signpost branch off to the right to ascend to Pirigen (1773 m) on the hiking trail. From here ascend on open, moderately steep slopes north-north-westward until the depression on the south of Spitzenbüel (2248 m). Now ascend eastward to reach the south ridge at ca. 2360 m. Follow the ridge to the summit.
Variant: from the Langwies railway station
From the Langwies railway station ascend to P. 1490 via Schluocht.
