Deep in the Lochberg lie countless crystal treasures; some have also come to the surface over the millennia due to erosion. It is unsurprising then, that this mountain is visited often by crystal hunters who laboriously recover these natural beauties and bring them to light. The Lochberg also offers the mountaineer a worthwhile destination. The easy high tour, which is marked blue-white for most of the way and finishes with a short glacier crossing (very few crevasses), can be quite reasonably be done as a day trip from the Göscheneralp. Keep your eyes open; you might even find a piece of smoky quartz to keep as a valuable memory of this interesting tour.
