L'Evêque 3717 m Alpinism
L'Evêque is French for bishop. This summit is located between Col de l'Evêque and Mitre de l'Evêque, and is basically the end of the S-ridge of Mont Colon. This proud summit lies completely in Switzerland. It has a massive rock face to the S, while the N is glaciated. L'Evêque is a popular destination from the Cabane des Vignettes. The mountain has a main summit (3717 m) and a near-by pre-peak (about 3705 m), separated by a firn saddle.
