Popular and sunny tour reserved for good snow conditions: the south facing slope can be quickly stripped of snow. The route leads up a very steep road in the direction of Lac de Taney, before climbing the south facing slope to reach a broad pass. A gently sloping meadow followed by a ridge gives access to the summit.
Route description
Le Flon – summit
From Le Flon (1046 m), above Miex, head west on the access road to Lac de Taney. Cross the pass of Col de Taney (1440 m) and descend to the lake. Cross the inlet to the hamlet of Taney, then climb north, following the summer path from Refuge du Grammont, up through the forest and then diagonally across the slope up to the ruins of Les Crosses (1737 m). Continue to the pass, Col des Crosses at P. 1970, to the NE of Les Jumelles. Finally, contour along the W side of Grammont to gain the NNW ridge and follow this to the summit.
