- Ascent
- 1:30 h, 250 m
-
- Descent
- 80 m
The ascent via this historic path built in 1739 through the south wall under the Gemmi Pass is scenic and sees a lot of activity. It is much more convenient to float over this part with the Gemmibahn (cableway).
Route description
Gemmipass - Lämmerenhütte
In a few short minutes you can descend from the mountain station of the Leukerbad - Gemmipass cableway to the Gemmpiass at P. 2268. There follow the path to Jägerbode and continue west through the alluvial plain of the Lämmereboden to P. 2312, directly below the steep step on which the hut stands. Climb the steep, 200 m slope, west of the stream and reach the Lämmerenhütte.
Variant: on foot from Leukerbad
From the Leukerbad bus station cross the village to the valley station of the Gemmibahn. Now follow the historic Gemmiweg via Platten and Schmitten up to the Gemmipass (2268 m).
