The starting point of this tour is the hamlet of Saint-Jean. The route is easy and makes for a good early season tour. At first it is through a forest and across a number of clearings. The second part of the ascent through gentle pastures is sheer pleasure. There is a nice view to the upper Val de Réchy.
Route description
Saint-Jean - La Brinta P. 2621
From St-Jean (1327 m) ascend west to L'Irette (1629 m). Continue on the upper trail past Les Ziettes and Les Luisannes (1882 m). Now a slightly steeper slope leads up to the chalet at Orzival (2095 m). Traverse the pastures and then ascend on the SE bowl via La Rauje (2321 m). Continue in the same direction to P. 2601 on the main ridge and leave the rocky tooth called La Brinta to the left. Then turn right and go to P. 2621 without further difficulties.
