Short and intense - or the cool, contemplative approach: the two ways to Kröntenhütte!

The normal approach from Erstfeld via Bodenberg offer in two different ascent options. The Geissfad is the shortest and steepest way to get to the Kröntenhütte. The way over the Chüeplangg is a little more kind, but also longer. It rises more gently than the Geissfad and is particularly valued on hot summer days, because from Bodenberg the 'Chüeplanggenweg' follows the line of the stream for most of the way. Up to Bodenberg there is possibility to take an 'Alpentaxi' +41 79 665 58 81, or private vehicle (CHF 20 tariff, permit available at the Migros kiosk or train station or in the Gemeinde building for travel and parking at Bodenberg).

Route description

Bodenberg - Sulzwald - Schattig Boden - Fulensee - Kröntenhütte

Follow the Alpbach from Bodenberg and ascend to the hut via Sulzwald, Schattig Boden and Fulensee (1705 m).

Variant: Bodenberg - Geissfad - Kröntenhütte

Somewhat steeper, but well marked and maintained option to approach the Kröntenhütte, via the Geissfad.

From Erstfeld train station.

From Erstfeld via Spätach, Birchi and Restiberg to Bodenberg. You can also take an taxi for this section (Tel. +41 79 665 58 81) or your own car (permit available at the Migros or train station kiosk or in the Gemeinde building / CHF 20.- for travel and parking). Signposted parking spaces at Bodenberg.
