Kistenstöckli / Muot da Rubi 2748 m Mountain hiking
This is a massive rock rising from the saddle between Kistenpass and Bifertenstock behind Limmerensee. It is an easy to climb mountain offering a magnificent view. The starting point of the popular tour is Breil/Brigels. There is a summit cross and a summit book. At the foot of Kistenstöckli the flysch rock, characteristic for the mountains to the east, surfaces. Fossils abound in the area. They can be found on the gentle slopes full of scree when hiking on the mountain. Those who climb Kistenstöckli from Kistenpass ascend the saddle at P. 2501 and then bypass the summit on the north-western side in order to reach it from the south-west. Coming from Brigels, take the path from Bifertenhütte to ascend the south-west face.
