Jungfrau 4158 m Alpinism
At 4158 m, it is the highest of the famous trio: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It is relatively easy to reach from the Junfraujoch. Nevertheless, it is recommended to do the tour from the Mönchsjochhütte because even with the first train to the Jungfraujoch, you will be late and the glacier is heavily crevassed; the snow will be softer making the going harder and the sno bridges weaker. Especially true in midsummer.
First ascent Johann Rudolf and Hieronymus Meyer with Joseph Bortis and Alois Volker on August 3, 1811. First winter ascent: Mrs. Margaret Claudia Brevoort and William Augustus Brevoort Coolidge with Christian and Ulrich Almer on January 23, 1874.
