Route description
Burchser Malbun (ski lift) – P. 1485 – Rosswis
From Berghaus Malbun (1371 m) ascend to P. 1485 or take the ski lift. Now follow the mountain trail north-westward through the sparse forest of Schiben to reach Obersäss (1743 m). Continue on the summer trail towards Hanenspil. From ca. 1840 m traverse the fairly steep (up to 38°) south-east face. If in doubt about the avalanche risk, traverse Hanenspil (1888 m). Continue south-westward via «Bi den Seen» to Isisizgrat (2015 m). From the ridge ski westward down to Riet (ca. 1900 m) in the Isisiz bowl. Re-attach the climbing skins to your skis and ascend south-westward via P. 1922 to reach the ridge of Alt Alp (2148 m). Continue southward following the north-east ridge to the summit of Isisizer Rosswis.
Descent
On the ascent, and 120 metres of vertical height to Isisizgrat must be re-ascended.
Alternative descent around Obersäss
Instead of skiing down via Obersäss you can ski down the bowl north of Marchböden.
