For a long time the climbers of Grindelwald searched for a good sport climbing area near by. Finally they found it, on the cliffs above alp Hintisberg. The horizontal structure of the rock made for great hand holds and ledges towards the two ends of the cliff, but also for big overhangs in its central section. The routes at Hintisberg are generally sustained in difficulty and cover incredible ground on (mostly) solid rock.
