This is a short and easy ski tour starting from a cabin high above Braunwald. Those who do not want to spend the night at Ortstockhaus, can start from Gumen (Braunwald skiing area).
Route description
Ortstockhaus - Hinterer Eggstock
From Ortstockhaus (1770 m) go north-westward along Schattenstock to reach P. 1953 via Tünis. Now ascend south-westward to a first terrace. On the summer trail go northward and bypass the rocky head of Untere-Bützi. Continue via Ober Boden (2262 m) to P. 2366 on the western ridge of Hinterer Eggstock. Depending on the conditions, follow the ridge to the summit on skis or on foot.
Variant: Ascent from Gumen
To reach P. 1953 from the Gumen summit station, traverse westward on the summer trail.
