Route description
Oberalppass to the junction at P. 2263
From Oberalppass head north through the military barracks on the mountain path marked "Fellilücke". At 2250 m turn left (west) over the Hinterfellibach (stream) and continue along the mountain path towards Löcher and P. 2274.
Junction at P. 2263 - 'Shortcut' to Vorder Felli
The path begins to drop slightly after P. 2274. You can maintain height here by cutting right from the main path and making straight for the zig-zag path of Vorder Feli.
Vorder Felli - P. 2410
Follow the zig-zag path up to P. 2410 to meet a larger path.
P. 2410 - Klettergarten Lutersee
Follow the flat footpath west above the Lutersee. After the second stream would be a right turn for klettergarten Lutersee.
Klettergarten Lutersee - Turn for Gross Schijen South Ridge
Continue to the western end of the lake.
Lutersee - Gross Schijen South Ridge
From the western end of the lake climb diagonally over screes to the lowest reaching rocks. Here at 2511 m, is the start to the Gross Schijen South Ridge.
Variant: Gütsch - Lutersee

From the car park, contour northeast towards the Lutersee, then up through screes to the South Ridge, 50 min.

If by train: 1¼ from Oberalp Pass; 1½ hours from Nätschen.
If by car, a road that requires a permit goes up to Gütsch. From here its just 50 mins

Path not always obvious, especially when you take long-short-cuts. Good approach shoes are normally sufficient.
