Once the little road to Käseren is behind you, an impressive landscape opens up. A waterfall to the right, plus magnificent alpine flora along the trail lends vitality to the weary hiker.
Route description
Klöntal, Plätz - Käsern
From Plätz (852 m) at the far end of the Klöntalersee (possible bus from Glarus Train Station) follow the gravel road through the Rossmatter valley to Käsern.

Käsern - Glärnischhütte
From Käsern follow the gravel road until Werben and then the marked path towards the hut. One small steeper step is made easier with chains.
Tip: it is possible to cycle as far as Werben.
