Gendusas - Lai Alv 2500 m Climbing
In the 90s some beautiful sport and alpine multi-pitch routes were developed in the ski area of Disentis. Their altitude ca. 2500 m ensures pleasant climbing conditions in summer (not too hot), while their sunny south-facing nature guarantees great fun for all the family. The rock is typical granite: smooth slabs, parallel cracks and jug-handle flakes. Access is ironically easier in winter, as you can simply stop by with your skis. In summer though, the cable car only goes up to Gendusas. From there you'll have to walk half an hour to the climbing, both for the Lai Alv and Traversa areas. For Piz Gendusas and Crap (not a typo) Baselgia you'll need 1 hour for the approach. It is also possible to reach the area from Sedrun with the Cuolm da Vi cable car. Check via the website www.disentis-sedrun.ch
Information leaflets can also be found at the cable car's valley station.
