From Chüenzentennlen (Normal route) Gelmerhütte SAC 2412 m
-
- Difficulty
- T2
-
- Ascent
- 3 h, 890 m
It is a varied hike up to a cabin, characterised by lots of water.
The scenic ascent leads through an impressive granite landscape with lakes, waterfalls, slabs polished by the glacier and alluvial plains. It is slightly longer than the access from Gelmerbahn’s summit station, nevertheless also suited for families, if the children have some mountain experience and stamina.
Route description
Kunzentännlein – Gelmersee (north shore) – Gelmerhütte
From Kunzentännlein follow the marked mountain trail via Stockseewli to Gelmersee. Cross the dam to the summit station of Gelmerbahn and continue, somewhat exposed, along the north shore of Gelmersee. From the end of the lake hike up to Gelmerhütte on a rather steep trail and over high steps.
Variant Gelmersee south shore
Add roughly a quarter of an hour as compared to the north shore.
