Starting from the Ramslauenen summit station, this tour is the shortest, often undertaken ascent, which is rather shady in high winter. Depending on the conditions, the north-east ridge requires a shorter or longer ascent on foot from the ski depot. The exposed Gehrihore summit located between Kiental and Kandertal offers an extended view.
Route description
Ramslauenen – ski depot on the north-east ridge
From the summit station of the chair lift at Ramslauenen (1404 m) ascend westward to P. 1504. Continue on the summer trail through the forest and in fairly steep pastures to the saddle south of Hore am Rüederigs (1857 m). Now follow the north-east ridge towards the summit. Leave the skis in the ski depot.
Ascent to the summit on the north-east ridge
Ascend on foot the steep, but not very exposed ridge fairly easily to the highest point.
Descent
On the ascent; if there is sufficient snow, it is much more interesting and rewarding to ski down to Reichenbach or Frutigen in Frutigtal.
