The tour from Capanna Monte Bar is very rewarding, not only for its unique view, but also for the summit itself. Although of low altitude and located down south, it is in no way inferior to better known mountains further north.
Route description
Capanna Monte Bar – Gazzirola
From Capanna Monte Bar (1608 m) follow the road, which traverses the east face of Monte Bar (caution when crossing a number of steep valleys) via P. 1603 to Pandanis (1602 m) and the saddle at 1672 m. You can reach the same point by traversing the Monte Bar summit and skiing down to the saddle at 1672 m via P. 1692. Continue on the ridge, which goes all the way up to the Gazzirola summit. Pass Cima Moncucco (1724 m) and descend to Passo di Pozzaiolo (1685 m), then reach the summit by ascending in steeper terrain and remain slightly south of the ridge line.
