Flüela Wisshorn 3085 m Mountain hiking
Wisshorn above Flüelapass is the best-known summit in the area. It is climbed in summer and winter. In winter 2019, a large rockslide occurred on the west flank of the Flüela Wisshorn, which did not directly affect the summer route to the Winterlücke. In recent years, however, high temperatures in summer have led to increased rockfalls on the normal route (north-west ridge) due to thawing permafrost.
Rock climbers are rarely seen. The western ridge of P. 3062 has an extraordinarily demanding climbing route («ZZCrack»), which requires extensive alpine experience.
