Summer Sunday morning in Les Plans-sur-Bex. The sun hides behind the mighty limestone cliffs of Grand Muveran (3051 m) and its rugged neighbouring summits. I walk with my hands in my pockets, swiftly up into the valley. Soon the noise of the Avançon de Nant accompanies me and drowns the cars on the road to Pont de Nant. Wonderful route on wooden planks, once even under the rock: a hiking trail, so to speak. At the beginning of the via ferrata, the sun still does not shine; I click into the taut cable. In the slightly overhanging crux section, I forget the shadow, the Muveran and also the noisy generator on an alp higher up. And suddenly the rays are there, illuminating the diagonal ramp through the vertical wall, along which I must clim. After 50 metres, this climb is over, but the sunny landscape of the Alpes vaudoises remains.
