At first the ascent from La Punt is on the road across Albulapass (closed in winter), then on north-facing slopes up to the summit ridge. On the ridge one reaches the winter summit (P. 2798) of Crasta Mora. From the summit the view goes to the precipitous main summit, Upper Engadine and the Bernina range.
Route description
La Punt – Crasta Mora
From La Punt (1686 m) on the road across Albulapass westwards until shortly before the bridge (1740 m). Now along the Ova d'Alvra over a bridge higher up and after another bridge keep left through clearings and crossing the subsequent avalanches paths of Drosa to Alp Proliebas (2060 m). Now ascend the wide slopes of Funtaunas to reach P. 2347. Continue southward over an escarpment to the ridge, which is reached at Peidra Mora. Follow the wide ridge south-westward to the secondary summit (P. 2743) and continue on the flat ridge to the summit (P. 2798).
Descent
On the ascent; if the conditions are safe, from Peidra Mora you can ski directly down in the clearings of Drosa to reach the 7th bend of the road across Albula (ca. 1930 m.) Depending on the exact route, the slope is 30°–35° on 400 metres of vertical height, ZS).
Variant: road across Albulapass
From La Punt (1686 m) follow the road across Albulapass to the bridge at P. 1740. The following three bends can be cut short in pastures. From ca. 1830 m again on the road ascend to P. 2036. Branch off the road and cross the bridge to Alp Proliebas (2060 m).
