The apparently humble, grass topped hump of Corn da Mürasciola surprises those who venture round to its northern side with a steep buttress of rocky pillars. In the 80s, exploring the the rock of its central slabs, Urs Tinner developed a worthwhile multi pitch here. Re-equiped in 2002, It is a well bolted route now and quite often climbed.
Route description
Via Tinner
See route Topo.
Descent from Corn da Mürasciola
Drop steeply down from a saddle in the west ridge. Or see "Variant".
Variant: Descent via the west ridge.
Follow the west ridge, crossing the saddle (possible descent from here). Turn left (south) before falling off the end of the west ridge, and follow the grassy ridge down to pass the Lagh da Mürasciola (lake). Follow tracks down the grassy slopes of the east side of the mountain. After a shepherd's hut, the trail becomes clearer and leads through the larch forest to Rifugio Saoseo SAC. Walking time 1h.
