Route description
Claridenhütte SAC – Claridenfirn (glacier)
From the Claridenhütte, follow the marked footpath up to the Claridenfirn (glacier)
Claridenfirn – Clariden
Romp up the not-too-steep Claridenfirn, past the obvious buttress of the Túfelstock the broad flank of the Bocktschingel and onto the east snow flank of Clariden itself. Head for the top right corner of the snow flank (usually best place to bypass the bergschund) and gain a saddle SE of the summit. If the bergschrund is not playing ball, you can bear further north onto the slabs instead of crossing it, and climb up to the NE ridge.
Descent
Down the route of ascent. Or cross over to the Planurahütte – another incredible place to spend the night!
