Clariden 3267 m Alpinism
An oft-summited peak, both in summer and in winter, the north face of which stands in stark contrast to the green alpine pastures of the Urnerboden valley. The normal route via the "Iswändli" was earlier the scene of many accidents. Due to the ongoing glacier retreat however, this formerly steep ice field has become more harmless. To counter this, the route from fore summit to main summit has become much more demanding. Here though, massive iron chains take the 'fun' out of it!
