Chöpfenberg 1894 m Mountain hiking
The Chöpfenberg forms the western end of the Wageten-Brüggler-Chöpfenberg mountain chain. On clear days, the extensive view extends from Lake Constance to the Jura mountains. There is no easy ascent, but a number of exceptionally rewarding routes lead to its summit. On the south side, the Chöpfenberg is built up of steep grass banks and sloping stretches of rock, on the north side it falls in one rugged rocky drop into the Niederurner and Trepsen valleys. While the eastern part of the north face is rather broken and brittle, the northwestern side is more compact and similar to the neighbouring Bockmattli. Here there are some difficult sport climbing routes.
