Versatile climbing area above the Stöckalp in Melchtal with over a dozen multi-pitches. Thanks to the easy approach, the shortest routes are also possible as half-day tours. On hot days the crag's SE exposure provides shade in the afternoon. The Chaltbach Sector is one of the most spectacular crags that the Central foothills have on offer. For the most energetic of sport climbers. The fixed ropes are a testimony to the steepness and exposure of the climbing here; these are required while abseiling on the starkly overhanging wall. The steepest routes here are very athletic but generally less difficult than the technical but not so steep routes of the Meterorite sector south of the waterfall.
The longest routes are found on the peripheries of the wall: Pulsar (far left) and Stariway to Heaven (far right) in the Flaschengeist Sector.
