This is a short ski tour for beginners to a pretty viewpoint above the Sihlsee plain. It can be undertaken after snowfall when other targets cannot be considered due to the avalanche risk. The only problem to overcome are fences which have not been removed for the winter.
Route description
Schmalzgruben – Charenstock
From the Unteriberg, vordere Schmalzgruben (ca. 915 m) bus stop traverse the plain south-eastward to reach the bridge across the Minster (908 m). Follow the creek southward until you can ascend the wide pastures eastward (Schlänggen on the map) to reach the summit.
