Racy descent to Chamanna Coaz CAS
Not a ski tour in the classic sense. This "type 1 fun" approach to Chamanna Coaz is a simple descent from the Corvatsch ski area. The approach from Pontresina through the Val Roseg is tedious and used much less often.
Route description
Surlej – Chamanna Coaz CAS
From Surlej, take the cable car to the Corvatsch top station (3297 m). Descend SE along the ski slope into Vadret da l’Alp Ota, then you leave the pisted slopes and cross S over the ridge to the west of P. 3099 (crossing point marked with a sign). A short fixed rope facilitates the descent into the larger Vadret dal Murtèl. Continue traversing south until you can descend over the beautiful SE slopes of Murtèl Sur to the plateau of Plaun dals Süts (2679 m). From here, contour once more along gentle slopes, and finally cross above the steep Plattas (slabs) to gain the hut.

The approach from the Corvatsch top station is fairly easy, but the risk of avalanches on the steep eastern slopes of Murtel, which are quickly softened by the morning sun, should not be underestimated.
