Short and entertaining approach: from the top cable car station, cross the dam to the other shore, climb a short distance up past a small lake, and arrive at the Capanna da l'Albigna SAC.
Route description
Pranzaira cable car - Capanna da l'Albigna SAC
From the Pranzaira cable car, climb up onto the dam. Cross the dam to the eastern shore, then head south, passing a small lake, to reach the Capanna da l'Albigna SAC.
Variant: From the valley.
Longer by 2:30 hrs.
The hut path starts from the Maloja Pass road, about 300 m north of the Pranzaira bus stop (1192 m) and valley station of the cable car. It leads up and round to the Albigna stream at P. 1302. Cross the stream and climb through forest, pass Motta Ciürela (1381 m) and Sasc Prümaveira (1972 m) then contour over to the foot of the dam and top cable car station.
