Route description
All’Acqua - Capanna Basodino
From All’Acqua (1612 m) climb steadily SW to cross over Passo San Giacomo (2306 m). From the pass maintain altitude, passing under the rocks of Marchhorn to reach a saddle (2407 m) at the rock outcrop Rupe del Gesso. Slip ever-so-slightly down towards the Laghi Boden, then bear left and climb, initially steep (up to 35 °), towards the Bocchetta di Val Maggia (pass, 2633 m). From the pass you can ascend a tad more to gain a nicer "drop in", before skiing west down to the valley below. Pass Randinascia (2167 m) to reach the reservoir at Robièi (1889 m); turn right and shortly reach the hut (Cap. Basodino, 1855 m).
