Steep and efficient
The ascent from Dangio to Capanna Adula overcomes a first step and then leads into the secluded and untouched Val Soi. After a while we leave the valley floor and ascend to two summer hamlets. Then the trail zigzags very steeply up 600 metres. There is not a more efficient way to overcome a steep slope.
Route description
Dangio - Capanna Adula CAS
From the bus stop Dangio/Chiesa go back three minutes towards Cimanorma (the large, abandoned factory, where chocolate was formerly produced) and turn left. Hike up through the village (markings). Leave the village at a chapel and ascend north-eastward, crossing the road once. At about 1000 metres the trail runs into the aforementioned road. Follow it for a short while and then take a short cut to Güfera. After Lighee continue on the gravel road to Soi. Now hike up to the upper hamlet (Jrà) and in serpentines through the forest to P. 1699, where you cross a ditch. The terrain is increasingly steep and the trail makes endless zigzags. At about 1980 m you reach a bifurcation. If we went straight on we would come to Cappella di Termine, the trail to the right, however, leads in a few minutes to Capanna Adula.
