Hut approach with high alpine character, especially the last section from'Cabane d'Orny - Cabane du Trient. Leads into a magnificent glacier landscape.
Route description
Cabane d'Orny - Cabane du Trient
For some years, a new route without glacier contact has developed leading to the Cabane du Trient. The path is marked white-blue-white.
After the Cabane d'Orny pass a small lake to the right (N) and then skirt the south-eastern foot of Aiguille Tourelle. The path now leads to small tarn on the right, before climbing over rocky slabs (made easy with artificial steps). Just before the hut, the path merges with the standard glacier approach and climbs cuts through the last steep slope to the Cabane du Trient, 1 hr.
