Route description
Ferpècle - Bricola - Ruisseaux de Bricola P. 2641
From Les Salays (1767, bus stop) take the road to Ferpècle (parking area, small reservoir, ca. 1890 m). Now follow the mountain path in an south direction along the E side of the valley. After about 500 m, turn left steeply up to Le Perroc and P. 2121, then continue SE, gradually uphill via numerous zigzags to Bricola (2416 m), 2 hours. Continue the diagonal ascent SE which eventually leads to the moraine ridge (P. 2641).
P. 2641 - Roc Noir - Cabane de la Dent Blanche
From P. 2641 you follow a blue and white marked path along the moraine towards the Glacier des Manzettes. Drop down off the moraine to pass a small lake (P. 2752). Pass this to the left (north) then steer south above it, aiming for the SW bank of the glacier, and climb up to the small plateau at P. 3105. Ascend the glacier's edge briefly to reach Roc Noir (approx. 3180 m), 2 1⁄2 hours. Climb the ridge of Roc Noir, then the upper firn slope of Glacier des Manzettes (crampons and ice axe!) to the foot of the Wandfluelücke's west ridge. Follow tracks and markings through the N side of this rocky ridge to gain the hut (3506 m). 1 1⁄2 hours.
