The usual via ferrata on Brunnistöckli is ideal for beginners: not too difficult, not too steep, not too long. But it is exposed, so you still get that real via ferrata feeling, even more so than on Rigidalstockgrat which requires a fair bit of hiking before you start climbing. Those adept in the art of clipping/unclipping karabiners in vertical terrain, are advised to give the Zittergrat a go. This via ferrata runs up vertical walls to Brunnistöckli, merging with the Brunnistöckli via ferrata just before the suspension bridge. The crux of Zittergrat is a layback traverse. Do not hesitate: take a deep breath, lean out and go – the steel cable will hold, for sure. After all the adrenalin enjoy a beer in the snack bar at the Härzliseeli from where you can watch others climbing the Zittergrat. Cheers!
