The new via ferrata in the Saas Valley leads right next to the Britanniahütte to a shoulder of the Hinter Allalin. In addition to the short approach from the hut, it is above all the view to the surrounding glaciers and 4000 m peaks that renders this relatively short and moderately difficult via ferrata so interesting. The via ferrata can be combined with the Glacier Trail for the ascent to (or descent from) the Britannia hut. The result is a very rewarding and varied day trip.
